Resumo

Detectar, aislar y evaluar supervivencia del género Brucella en el agua de cuatro Axalapascos, Puebla, México. Se determinaron los perfiles de los índices fisicoquímicos por mes durante un año. El análisis microbiológico del agua, se realizó conforme a normas vigentes. Para búsqueda, detección y aislamiento de Brucella spp. se utilizaron técnicas estándar. Las colecciones de referencia fueron B. abortus RB51 y B. melitensis M16. Para el experimento de supervivencia fue empleado el medio BRUCELLA-BUAP® con violeta de etilo y antibióticos. En todos los casos se excedió lo permitido en la norma correspondiente. Por su parte Brucella spp., fue detectada y aislada en todos los lagos. En contraste para B. abortus RB51, la supervivencia fue de 29 días y en contraste para B. melitensis M16 la supervivencia fue de 200 días. Se demostró la presencia de Brucella spp., en los cuatro Axalapascos estudiados, concluyéndose que las condiciones ambientales y actividades antrópicas en sus alrededores favorecen la presencia y persistencia de B. melitensis y B. abortus en sus aguas. Conforme a los datos obtenidos, se deduce que en la zona de los Axalapascos existe un problema de zoonosis importante, mismo que ha afectado la calidad microbiológica del agua natural de estos lagos cráter, generando un potencial riesgo a la salud pública en la Región.
