Abstract

O som é conhecido por afetar diretamente sistemas biológicos, incluindo aqueles envolvidos na germinação de sementes e desenvolvimento inicial de plantas. Seu efeito na aceleração da germinação de sementes tem sido demostrado em diversas pesquisas, com bons resultados sendo observados também sobre a porcentagem de germinação. O som também apresenta efeitos positivos no desenvolvimento de plântulas, estimulando o alongamento de raiz e da parte aérea, o que pode estar relacionado a elevação dos níveis de fitormônios promotores de crescimento e incremento na divisão mitótica. Em mudas, tem sido observado a influência do som contribuindo com elevações significativas no nível de poliaminas, que regulam o desenvolvimento das plantas e aumento na captação de oxigênio O2 em comparação aos controles. As ondas sonoras também podem ser utilizadas de forma combinada com a técnica da micropropagação ou cultura de tecidos, ambas contribuindo concomitantemente para o aumento na organogênese. Sendo assim, a aplicação de vibrações sonoras pode estimular uma série de processos bioquímicos nas células das plantas, contribuindo positivamente para o seu desenvolvimento inicial.
