Abstract

As pescarias destinadas à captura de pequenos peixes pelágicos são mundialmente importantes. No Brasil, a sardinha-laje Opisthonema oglinum ocorre ao longo de toda costa, sendo que no estado de Pernambuco suas capturas são realizadas principalmente em regiões estuarinas. O esforço de pesca foi avaliado de acordo com as variações sazonais de precipitação, o comportamento de Opisthonema oglinum, e sua fauna acompanhante com relação às distribuições espaciais na coluna d’água, com o objetivo de se propor medidas de gestão pesqueira para a região estuarina do Canal de Santa Cruz. Os dados foram obtidos mensalmente entre julho 2013 e junho de 2014, com rede de emalhar de 30 mm no Canal de Santa Cruz.  De acordo com os períodos de seca e chuva regionais, os peixes foram separados registrando-se a sua posição quanto ao sentido transversal (margens e parte central) e posição vertical do canal (superior, meio e inferior). As distribuições sazonal e espacial foram avaliadas pela Análise de Componentes Principais (ACP). Foram capturados 9.561 indivíduos, pertencentes a oito famílias e 17 espécies de peixes. A ACP explicou 87,07% da variabilidade na distribuição das espécies e os parâmetros sazonais de chuva e seca exibiram maior peso. A sazonalidade foi verificada nas capturas, demostrando maior captura de peixes durante o período chuvoso e espacialmente na região central do canal. Como medida de gestão, o aumento da malha de 30 para 40 mm é sugerido, principalmente durante os meses de chuva quando há maior abundância e diversidade.
