Abstract

A quantidade de áreas terrestres e marinhas designadas formalmente como áreas protegidas tiveram um aumento significativo ao longo dos últimos anos, mas há muito que se avançar em termos de efetividade dessas áreas. Instituições responsáveis pela gestão de áreas protegidas em todo o mundo tem se utilizado cada vez mais de avaliações de efetividade para entender, aprender e melhorar os esforços de conservação. Com o objetivo de apresentar a produção científica dos últimos dez anos a respeito da análise de efetividade de gestão das áreas protegidas no Brasil foi realizada uma revisão sistemática de pesquisas a respeito da aplicação de metodologias de avaliação de efetividade de áreas protegidas brasileiras. Os estudos sobre o tema pesquisado e que geram publicações científicas são bastante escassos no Brasil e ainda em número insignificante diante da quantidade da produção científica publicada sobre pesquisa produzida em outros países a respeito da efetividade de gestão em áreas protegidas.
