Abstract

Câncer confere as maiores taxa de morbidade e mortalidade mundiais, tanto para homens quanto para mulheres, os cânceres mais frequentes são de pulmão, mama e próstata, cerca de três quartos desses pacientes encontra-se em fase terminal necessitando de cuidados paliativos, com a finalidade salvaguardar sua dignidade até o fim da vida. Esse trabalho tem como finalidade investigar como o profissional biomédico pode atuar na prática de Cuidados Paliativos em pacientes oncológicos terminais mediante a um estudo bibliográfico descritivo analisando três bancos de dados (PubMed, Portal Virtual da Saúde BVS e Scielo). Em relação aos resultados apresentados houve a predominância do perfil do gênero feminino (60,5%) entre os pacientes oncológicos na área da terapêutica paliativa e mais de 50% dos membros da equipe multiprofissional em CP, também houve uma correlação entre os parâmetros de albumina e Proteína C Reativa com a sobrevida do paciente em CP, seguido do papel do biomédico em relação ao manejo da dor do paciente, desidratação entre outros. Em conclusão, esses parâmetros são analisados pelo profissional biomédico, podendo assim identificar vários fatores acometidos pela doença, facilitando na tomada de decisões no tratamento paliativista.
