Abstract

A ampla utilização de dispositivos móveis está transformando as aulas no ensino superior. Este estudo examinou se a multitarefa desempenhada pelo uso de dispositivos móveis em sala de aula afeta a performance acadêmica de estudantes universitários. Estudantes foram divididos em três grupos (uso espontâneo, uso estimulado e não uso de dispositivos móveis) e sua aprendizagem foi comparada. A performance acadêmica do grupo ao qual foi solicitado a não utilização de dispositivos móveis foi superior à dos demais grupos. Estudantes também responderam a um questionário avaliando sua motivação para aprender, assim como a autoreferência do tempo de uso estimado de dispositivos móveis em sala de aula. Ambas medidas foram avaliadas como variáveis confundidoras e não apresentaram efeito na aprendizagem.
