Abstract

A fim de estudar o efeito das microporosidades nas propriedades mecânicas da liga de alumínio JIS-AC4C T6, vazada em processo de fundição por gravidade e molde permanente, foi realizado uma investigação por meio de ensaio de tração, análises química e caracterização da fratura, para evidenciar a fragilização da liga quando contaminada com microporosidades. As ligas de alumínio apresentam elevada solubilidade de hidrogênio no estado líquido, o que gera a formação de porosidades durante a solidificação. As análises de composição química mostraram que a liga utilizada apresentou parâmetros dentro da normalidade, porém, os resultados dos ensaios de tração e caracterização das fraturas através de técnicas de microscopia óptica, microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV), mostraram que a formação de vazios/porosidades no fundidos, contribui diretamente para a fragilização do material.
