Abstract

A frequência e distribuição de áreas queimadas global e regional são fortemente associadas a condições climáticas. O aumento da temperatura e mudanças nas chuvas sazonais e anuais, podem acarretar no aumento do potencial do fogo, uma vez que períodos longos de estiagem são capazes de aumentar a inflamibilidade dos materiais combustíveis e interferir no tamanho e na gravidade de áreas queimadas. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar em escala espaço-temporal as áreas queimadas no Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina entre 2001 e 2016, a partir das imagens do sensor Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer e verificar a variabilidade de ocorrência de acordo com as chuvas. O resultado demonstrou que 1280, 22km² foram atingidos por queimadas no Parque Nacional. Além dos grandes eventos de queimadas serem precedidos de períodos de estiagem, também foi observado, que os maiores eventos de queimadas ocorreram no último trimestre do ano, mais precisamente, no mês de novembro. As localidades mais críticas identificadas nesse estudo, estão localizadas nas partes oeste,  sul e norte do Parque Nacional. A maior ocorrência de áreas queimadas são ocupadas por campo rupestres, sendo ainda observadas ocorrências modestas em áreas de florestas secundárias-floresta estacional, savanas-cerrado e pastagens. 2015.
