Abstract

A Colite Ulcerativa impõe uma redução acentuada na qualidade de vida dos seus acometidos, seja através de sintomas primários, como diarréia, hematoquezia e desconforto abdominal ou por sintomas secundários, como anemia e desidratação. Em alguns indivíduos o tratamento convencional para o controle da doença é ineficaz, tornando-a refratária - assim - novas abordagens foram propostas em busca de uma remissão, mesmo que temporária. Nessa perspectiva, destaca-se o transplante de microbiota fecal, procedimento que visa a recolonização intestinal de uma microbiota "incompetente" pela microbiota de um doador saudável. Esse estudo busca na literatura médica conhecimento acerca dos métodos de realização do procedimento e suas complicações, efeitos adversos e comprovação científica na remissão da doença. O trabalho consta de uma pesquisa exploratória e descritiva para a formação de uma opinião acerca da eficiência do método.
