Abstract

Introdução: As peculiaridades dos pacientes internados em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrica (UTIP) geram desafios para que uma assistência de qualidade seja equânime para pacientes agudos e crônicos. O cuidado pediátrico é baseado na tríade paciente-família-profissional de saúde.

Objetivo: Este estudo objetiva conhecer a percepção de cuidadores sobre os cuidados oferecidos a pacientes de uma UTIP de referência do Distrito Federal.

Método: Para coletar as informações, utilizou-se o instrumento (1) Quality of Children’s End-of-Life Care; e realizou-se (2) entrevista semiestruturada para abarcar a percepção dos entrevistados como o melhor, pior ou mais importante evento durante a internação.

Resultados: No período analisado, foram internados 160 pacientes na UTIP. Das patologias que motivaram a internação, 48,6% eram agudas, 28,6% congênitas e 22,9% crônicas. Participaram da pesquisa 35 familiares, com 25,7% classificando a qualidade dos cuidados ao paciente como bom, 34,3% como muito bom e 40% como excelente.

Conclusão: Diante dos resultados obtidos, conclui-se que utilizar uma ferramenta validada para conhecer a percepção do usuário sobre a assistência prestada é de suma importância para o entendimento da qualidade do serviço ofertado, auxiliando na gestão das UTI e na melhoria de suas práticas.
