Relação entre síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica e SARS COV 2 em pediatria / Relationship between multisystemic inflammatory syndrome and SARS COV 2 in pediatrics

Abstract


No ano de 2019 deu início a uma pandemia causada pelo SARS-COV-2, um vírus da família Coronaviridae. A principal manifestação da doença são sintomas gripais e respiratórios, que podem rapidamente evoluir para Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave e levar o paciente a óbito. As taxas de infecção em criança e jovens são baixas em comparação as outras faixas etárias. Porém, uma nova síndrome que acomete crianças e jovens está preocupando pais e médicos pediatras. Trata-se da Síndrome Inflamatória Multissistêmica Pediátrica, uma nova doença que tem os sintomas parecidos com a Doença de Kawasaki e pode levar à morte. O objetivo geral do presente trabalho é reunir estudos e apresentar quais as principais manifestações do COVID-19 em crianças e adolescentes, os objetivos específicos foram descrever e caracterizar a síndrome, além de demonstrar o diagnóstico e as principais formas de manejo adotadas. O trabalho foi feito em forma de revisão bibliográfica, reunindo e analisando dados em outros artigos científicos. Foram encontrados dados que a Síndrome Inflamatória Multissistêmica Pediátrica no momento é mais letal que o COVID-19 para a faixa etária de 0 a 19 anos, podendo matar até 2,6 vezes mais. O tratamento é feito de forma que reduza os sintomas e diminua as chances de complicações. Logo, necessita-se ainda de muitos estudos para compreender melhor a SIM, entender qual a origem, uma forma de diagnóstico precisa e o tratamento mais eficiente para que ocorra a diminuição no número de mortes. Também é necessário um acompanhamento dos pacientes, para saber se a Síndrome Inflamatória Multissistêmica Pediátrica deixará sequelas ao decorrer do tempo.
