Abstract

Neste trabalho buscou-se identificar os constituintes do óleo volátil das folhas de Ocotea corymbosa (Meisn.) Mez. da região Sul e Mato Grosso do Sul e testar a toxicidade do óleo frente Artemia salina sp. bem como sensibilidade frente bactéria gram-positivas e gram-negativas. As análises químicas foram realizadas por cromatografia gasosa por ionização em chama e cromatografia gasosa acoplada a espectrometria de massas. O rendimento do óleo das folhas de O. corymbosa foi de 0,29%. Foram determinados terpenos e sesquiterpenos tais como elixeno (9,97 %), ?-cadineno (8,90 %), germacreno D (7,04 %), cariofileno (4,74 %) e ?-cadinol (4,36 %). Frente Artemia salina o óleo apresentou resultados considerados de alta toxicidade e se mostrou eficiente contra a ação de duas bactérias, a Staphylococcus aureus e Enterococcus fecalis.
