Abstract

A fabela é um osso sesamoide localizado na cabeça lateral do músculo gastrocnêmio. Relatamos o caso de um homem de 49 anos que sofreu trauma durante uma partida de futebol. O levantamento bibliográfico demonstrou que a Fabela se relaciona com a estabilização da articulação do joelho podendo causar dor no joelho ou prejuízo funcional. Essa fratura é extremamente rara ate por ser sub diagnosticada clinica radiograficamente. Neste caso a fratura de fabela foi confirmada por raios-X simples e qualificada por tomografia axial computadorizada em 3D sendo o tratamento conservador efetivo para a recuperação funcional do paciente.
