Abstract

A SARS-COV-2 é uma doença viral cujo agente etiológico se dissemina disperso em gotículas nasofaríngeas e tem predileção pelas vias aéreas. Além dos indícios de outras vias de contágio que não envolvam essa via, há também o fato de desenvolver uma síndrome com acometimento multissistêmico e indicativos de lesões diretas em órgãos específicos pela própria viremia. Os rins também podem ser afetados, de modo direto ou indireto, pela infecção, o que ocorre em 5-10% dos casos. A presença de lesão renal, na forma de insuficiência renal aguda, é fator isolado de maior morbimortalidade, inspirando cuidados e procedimentos especiais, como a hemodiálise, e significando maior apreensão por parte dos médicos e dos pacientes. Do mesmo modo, a ocorrência de doença renal crônica após o acometimento renal durante a fase ativa da infecção, com necessidade permanente de diálise em pacientes curados, tem causado preocupação. A fisiopatologia do envolvimento renal pela COVID-19 não é ainda totalmente compreendida, embora haja indícios de ser semelhante às formas já conhecidas de lesão renal, tanto aguda quanto crônica. O objetivo do presente trabalho é relatar a experiência, na residência de Clínica Médica, do contato com pacientes que desenvolveram nefropatia na vigência ou após a infecção pelo novo Coronavírus.
