Abstract

Introdução: O exame físico neurológico é amplo e é composto por grande quantidade de sinais e manobras semiológicos. Sua riqueza pode representar um desafio para a seleção de um rol semiotécnico mínimo, adequado a ser aplicado em um paciente que demande um exame neurológico geral. Além disso, a coexistência de manobras semiológicas redundantes, bem como o desconhecimento das evidências quanto a seu poder diagnóstico, pode representar empecilhos adicionais. Objetivo: Nesse contexto, o objetivo é propor um roteiro de exame neurológico essencial baseado em evidências. Método: Utilizou-se como método uma revisão não sistemática da literatura. Resultados: Identificaram-se 13 itens para o exame neurológico essencial e foram reunidas as evidências acerca da acurácia de achados semiológicos diversos. Conclusão: Propõe-se um rol de exame neurológico mínimo baseado em evidências a partir do qual o médico neurologista pode selecionar as manobras semiológicas mais adequadas e, assim, alcançar o máximo de eficiência e acurácia no exame físico.
