Abstract

Objetivo: Estudar alterações em uma superfície osteocondral, submetida a uma lesão mecânica padronizada e formatar um modelo animal para tal lesão. Método: Foram utilizados 30 coelhos machos e jovens, sendo o procedimento experimental realizado em 60 joelhos. Após anestesia, anti-sepsia e colocação de campos, realizou-se procedimento cirúrgico produzindo lesão osteocondral com 4,2 X 5,0 milímetros (mm) em seus côndilos femorais mediais com instrumental padronizado. Avaliados histologicamente após três semanas. Resultado: O modelo animal formou regeneração incompatível com remissão espontânea, desenvolvendo tecido cicatricial diferente da cartilagem íntegra. Conclusões: modelo útil para o estudo das alterações cartilaginosas de regeneração, após lesão mecânica. Simples e de fácil controle e execução. Preserva os animais, que poderão servir para outros experimentos, ou para observações tardias dos fenômenos descritos e analisados neste primeiro relato.
