Abstract

A endometriose é um distúrbio ginecológico que pode ser impactado por diversos fatores, inclusive a dieta. Há vários nutrientes que refletem em alterações no metabolismo lipídico, estresse oxidativo e favorecem anormalidades epigenéticas possivelmente envolvidas em sua patogenia e progressão. Por isso, muito se tem pesquisado sobre a influência da alimentação e de alguns nutrientes no comportamento da doença. O resveratrol (RVT), substância presente em alguns alimentos, como amendoim, vinho, uva e frutas do tipo “berries” é considerado um nutracêutico, com propriedades anti-inflamatórias, antioxidantes, anti-angiogênicas e anti-proliferativas, e por essa razão poderia agir na contramão da fisiopatologia da endometriose, retardando a sua progressão. Propusemos, portanto, uma revisão sistemática da literatura para melhor compreender esses mecanismos e avaliar os reais benefícios do RVT, com fins terapêuticos em pacientes com endometriose. Realizou-se levantamento bibliográfico de 2012 a 2022 nas bases de dados Pubmed, SCIELO e ScienceDirect, e os descritores utilizados foram: “resveratrol” and “endometriosis”. Foram incluídos somente os artigos disponíveis que tinham a sua versão completa no idioma inglês, e que satisfizeram o espectro temático desejado. Identificamos 20 artigos, sendo a maioria estudos experimentais, utilizando animais ou cultivo de células endometriais, com evidências significativas que sustentam seguramente os efeitos benéficos do RVT na redução do crescimento e desenvolvimento das lesões, através de seus mecanismos já reconhecidos. Entretanto, há poucos estudos em humanos para reforçar esses achados, sendo prudente que sejam reproduzidos outros ensaios clínicos controlados e, preferencialmente, randomizados. Apesar dos dados clínicos não serem suficientes ainda para defini-lo como uma opção terapêutica, a plausibilidade da inclusão deste nutriente na alimentação pode ser promissora para as pacientes acometidas por endometriose.
