Abstract

Introdução: A dislipidemia é um dos principais fatores de risco para as doenças crônicas não transmissíveis e tem sido associada a alterações na composição da microbiota intestinal e na barreira intestinal, acarretando uma série de transtornos à saúde, a exemplo da disbiose intestinal e endotoxemia. O consumo de probióticos tem sido apontado como uma alternativa terapêutica para o tratamento da dislipidemia. Objetivo: Revisar e sistematizar o efeito dos probióticos no tratamento da dislipidemia e elucidar os mecanismos de ação a ele associados. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão da literatura do tipo scoping review, com busca nas bases de dados Medline (PubMed), Scopus, SciELO, BVS e LILACS. Utilizou-se os DECS probióticos, dislipidemias, hipercolesterolemia, hipertrigliceridemia e microbiota intestinal, e seus respectivos correlatos em inglês. Foram incluídos no estudo artigos em humanos, de ambos os sexos, com idade acima de 18 anos e que apresentassem os valores das frações lipídicas antes e após o tratamento com probióticos, administrados pela via oral. Resultados: Foram incluídos 16 estudos entre os períodos de 2009 a 2018. Destes, 81,25% (n=13) apresentaram efeitos positivos, a partir de 3 semanas do uso de probióticos, sendo o colesterol total e a lipoproteína de baixa densidade os parâmetros lipídicos mais sensíveis a ação dos probióticos. As linhagens mais usadas nos estudos são o Lactobacilus acidophilus (41,2%) e Bifidumbacterium lactis (31,3%). Conclusão: Os probióticos podem ser um importante coadjuvante no tratamento da dislipidemia, em especial na redução do colesterol total e da lipoproteína de baixa densidade, bem como na recuperação da microbiota intestinal devido a sua capacidade de fixar o colesterol em suas paredes, aumentando sua excreção. Entretanto, devido à escassez de estudos e a heterogeneidade dos resultados, é importante a continuidade das pesquisas na área, no intuito de aprofundar o conhecimento acerca dos mecanismos de ação, tempo de administração e as linhagens mais adequadas para o tratamento da dislipidemia.
